Kate Harris received a Master’s degree in Forestry from the University of Oxford in 1994. She worked for a number of years at the Oxford Forestry Institute in the University’s Department of Plant Sciences; her own overseas research projects have included a study of invasive tree species in Tanzania’s remote East Usambara Mountains, and an intensive review of agroforestry systems in Sri Lanka. She has also spent four years living in Orange Walk in northern Belize, juggling tropical life with a young family, and a passion for photography and trees. She now lives in the Cotswolds, in England.
